it's all about the oil in the gulf. Sure there is oil elsewhere but in the gulf region its best return of investment of retrieving it (geology baby). War is an economy. Think about all those companies who make money from war then look at who owns those companies. The thing is to all the money which funds these wars is our blood, sweat and tears ie: taxes. Look at Afghanistan the US went there stayed for 20 years and gave out a few contracts to defense contractors for ammo, arms, food, shelter etc. These firms made billions. SO the army went over at tax payers expense, stayed there at tax payers expense the defense contractors paid from taxpayers. Who benefitted? The shareholders of the contractors.
